Welcome to a dramatic and musical encounter with doomed queens and ruling women in Akershus Castle Church. Queen Margrethe, Cleopatra, Jocasta (mother of Oedipus..) (Lady Di) and Queen Dido are some of the women you will hear about. The different fates will be presented and each queen is given a vocal and scenic expression taken from a dramatic moment. The music is taken from the world's opera repertoire and is conveyed by the sparkling singer Hege Høisæter and her brilliant and sought-after pianist John Lidal.

Gisle Kverndokk’s new aria “Dronning Margretes nødbrev” (Queen Margrete's Emergency Letter) and “Ave Maria” written especially for Hege Høisæter and John Lidal will be performed.
